Diabetes and Nutrition Education
Our dietitians and registered nurse provide education on a large variety of topics.  We have two certified diabetes educators and a certified pediatric specialist on staff.  Diabetes education in Spanish is available.

One-on-one appointments are available with a dietitian or nurse for assessment and teaching based on your medical history, needs and lifestyle. 

Education for adults and children is provided for:

• Type 1, Type 2, Pre-Diabetes/Impaired Glucose Tolerance, and Gestational Diabetes
• Obesity
• Kidney Disease
• Heart Health
• Eating Disorders
• High Cholesterol
• Unintended Weight Loss

Medicare covers nutrition therapy for diabetes and kidney disease.  Many other insurance companies also cover one ore more visits for nutrition therapy for various conditions.  

Please check with your insurance plan to determine your coverage.  In most cases a doctor's referral is needed. Many policies require pre-approval to be arranged by your physician's office.

This free community group meets the 4th Monday of every month in the WVH Conference Room from 7-8 pm.
